Melanie obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba in 2013 after completing an Honours Economics and Business degree from the University of Waterloo in 2008. During law school, Melanie clerked for the Manitoba Court of Queen’s Bench and helped launch a new French language stream for incoming law students. She was called to the Bar in 2014 after articling at a well-respected full-service firm in London, Ontario and joined Zuber and Company LLP in January 2015.
Melanie’s practice is in insurance defence litigation, including motor vehicle, occupiers’ liability, product liability and property damage claims. She also has experience in plaintiff-side class actions. She appears regularly before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including recently as counsel in an oil spill trial. She has also argued on behalf of clients at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal.
Melanie speaks English and French. Outside of work, Melanie’s interests include traveling, live music, basketball, and dogs.
