David studied Philosophy at the University of Toronto before completing his Bachelor of Law in 1989 at Osgoode Hall Law School, where he received a First in Class in Advanced Trial Practice and Advocacy.

Upon being admitted to the Bar in 1990, he continued as an Associate at the firm where he completed his articles specializing in civil litigation, especially in the area of insurance law.

David was made a Partner in 1993 and was certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Civil Litigation in 1998. Notably, he was the youngest person ever to receive this Peer Review Designation having completed the requirements for trials, appeals and reported cases within the minimum seven year period.

David founded Zuber & Company LLP in February 1999. Under his management, the firm has grown to the current complement of eleven lawyers with a variety of insurance clients.

David’s practice is primarily trial and appellate work. He has extensive trial experience acting as counsel for clients at numerous trials (both judge alone and judge and jury) and appeals involving liability, injuries, property damage, occupier’s liability, product liability and insurance coverage disputes.

He has successfully argued a number of appeals acting as Counsel on behalf of the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) and has represented parties at mediations and arbitrations at the Ontario Insurance Commission and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO).

As well as co-authoring a textbook for high school law courses across Canada, David has contributed to a variety of legal and insurance publications and has made numerous presentations on civil liability and insurance issues.

David has been a member of many notable committees including Civility in Justice System; Task Force Bill 59 Auto Reform; and the Rules Committee: Task Force Discovery Process.

David is a member of the Canadian Bar Association; The Advocates Society; the Defence Research Institute; and was formerly Treasurer for the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association.
