James Tausendfreund

James was born and raised in Belleville, Ontario. In 2002, he completed a B.A. (Honours), magna cum laude, at the University of Ottawa, and in 2004 completed an M.A. in History at the same school.

James was awarded an LL.B., cum laude, from the University of Ottawa, in 2008. The same year, he was a member of his school’s team in the Gale Cup national moot court competition. The team won the Gale Cup, as well as the Peter Cory Prize for Best Factum, and James was awarded the Brian Dickson Medal for Best Oral Advocacy in the final round.

James articled at a national law firm in Toronto and was called to the bar in June 2009. After practicing at a Toronto firm specializing in criminal and administrative law, James joined Zuber & Company in June 2010. His practice now focuses on insurance litigation, particularly defending motor vehicle tort and occupiers’ liability claims.

James is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, as well as of the “Kurt Rambis” basketball team (Toronto Recreational Sports League, Thursday Night “B” League Champions, Winter 2009). James is also an avid yet inconsistent golfer.
