Karim N. Hirani
Karim obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University graduating with a major in Criminology and a minor in Political Science. He obtained his LL.B. from Queen’s University in 2001 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2002.
After completing his articles with a prominent Toronto law firm, Karim initially practiced plaintiff side civil and commercial litigation and subsequently practiced insurance defence litigation at a boutique Toronto law firm. Karim’s practice focuses primarily on insurance defence, including motor vehicle tort, personal injury, occupiers’ liability, oil spills, construction and commercial general liability. Karim has a particular interest in appeal work and has prepared appeal materials for matters before the Divisional Court, Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Karim has attended at trial and appears regularly on motions. He has also appeared before the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Karim is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Defence Lawyers and the Advocate’s Society.
