Maritza graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science double major in Environmental Science and International Development Studies. She went on to study law and obtain her JD at Dalhousie's Schulich School of Law in 2010. Maritza is licensed to practice law in the provinces of Ontario and Nova Scotia.

Before joining Zuber & Company, Maritza obtained her articles at the Nova Scotia Department of Justice, where she gained experience in a combination of legal areas including criminal, civil litigation, and family law.

Maritza joined Zuber & Company in October 2011 where she focuses her practice in insurance defence litigation, including property litigation, personal injury litigation, motor vehicle tort, occupiers' liability, and accident benefits claims.

Maritza is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and the Ontario Bar Association as well as the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association and the Advocates Society.
